Justice For Kohen

Outrage - that's what I felt when I heard that a District Attorney ruled that the shooting of a one-year-old by a cop was justified. Where is the public outcry over this situation? Why is the media all but ignoring this story? Have we grown so accustomed to watching the people in power mistreat others that it is no longer affecting us?

Wake up everybody! Can't you see what is happening? The excessive force used by ICE agents is now spilling over into the regular police force. When did it become more acceptable to kill someone than to allow them to get away? Slowly everyone is being conditioned to believe that power and control is the only thing that matters. It is an end that justifies whatever means you have to use to get it and it doesn't matter who it hurts in the process. It doesn't matter if it hurts innocent people - not even innocent children.

Mahatma Ghandi said, "The true measure of any society can be found in how it treats its most vulnerable members." This society used to be beautiful but it is quickly losing it's humanity. We are all responsible for making sure that children are protected. We must demand that every person in law enforcement is trained to carry out their duties in a reasonable, humane way, and that they are held accountable for their actions.  Don't sit back and wait for somebody else to do something. As Eldridge Cleaver said, "You either have to be part of the solution, or you're going to be part of the problem".
